Dear BA-I Students,
I was glad to read the answers that
you have posted in response to the ppt. on Daffodils. However, for the purpose
of assessment, we would be adopting a different tool for this test.
The assessment would be at 2 levels.
1. Peer Assessment: In this you will
assess the answers of your colleagues and award them marks out of 10.
2. Assessment by the Teacher: The
teacher will assess the answers after the peer assessment.
In order to ensure that there is no
conflict of interest, I will assign 2 students the task of assessing one
student and that is why you have to award marks out of ten.
To further ensure that the
assessment is not very subjective but has some criteria to follow, I have given
you a rubrics to follow

Ashish Pande
Dear Asashish,
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to see your approach to technology use in the classroom and engaging students in the appreciation of poetry and now self/peer-assessment through technological tool/assistance.I think if your strategy succeeds, then the assessment will be an objective and fair assessment of the students' performance. Some students may have erratic assessment of their friends' answer-scripts because they do not have competence on the various elements of poetry:figures, creative use of language, etc.The teacher has to be alert and give suggestions or comments to all students in this regard.Despite your precautions, some students may have poor result due to their inability to perform using English for writing a descriptive answer to all questions.I may be wrong, but my long teaching career and experience of assessing answers prompt me to say so.You can definitely give me your feed back after your stages are over.
Thanks and best wishes.
Sincerely,
Mahesh
Thanks Mahesh for taking out time to have a look at the peer assessment exercise that I developed.
DeleteI am also thankful to you for sharing your apprehensions with me, most of which I also share with you. I tried hedging this by developing the rubric for students' assessment.
All I can say is, I am keeping my fingers crossed.
I will definitely share my feedback with you after all this is over.
Thanks,
Ashish Pande

The task will be done together on 20/11/2012 in the computer lab at 3:00 PM.
Hoping to see you all on Tuesday.
I hope it clears your doubts.
