Teaching through technology

Feedback

Dear BA-I Semester students,

Over the past three weeks, I have taught you poetry using some technological changes. I would request you to post your comments here about the following:

1. How did the change affect you?
2. Did you like the change?
3. Did it help you overcome the challenges  you faced in language?
4. Did it make the class interesting?
5. How did it contribute to you as a student overall?
6. Was there something you did not like?

You are requested to write a few lines on this as a feedback. Do not write in points but try to keep the following questions in mind while answering these questions.

Best wishes,

Your teacher

Ashish Pande.

  1. Sir,
Over the past three weeks you taught us poetry with the help of technology. I liked the change very much. This change had a great affect on me. From the usual class room teaching this was a new concept and I was able to understand the subject more clearly and vividly and we were getting a visual representation of the topics we were studying. Yes it helped us overcoming the challenges we faced in language before. Now we are well versed in the topics we have studied. With the use of technology in class it made the lecture more interesting and the whole class enjoyed it. As a student I gained a lot from these technological changes which will give benefit me in the coming days to come. Thank you sir for providing these technological changes along with our course study. It has surely helped us. There was not any downsides and I liked this new concept and I would like to request you to continue teaching us with these technological changes

  3. I think textbooks provide a backbone to the the curriculum but should not be relied on exclusively. Use of technology is an effective means of teaching methods. It does not merely confide students to the classroom shells but gives them a practical outlook to the things that are taught in black and white text.
Also, the monotonous task of reading poetry and listening to a lecture of numerous literary figures ,was presented as a much more interesting one. Viewing the video and seeing the poem come alive in the form of images and music was a deviation from the traditional teaching techniques. In the end, almost all the students left the classroom satisfied.

  8. With the introduction of the use of technology in our Literature class, the change has helped us in getting a more interactive understanding and approach and further interest in the class. The 'challenge' overcomed is the slowness a class may become.

As a student, it gets us more and more involved in a class and we anticipate what would be done next in class. However, upgrading of the used technology may need to be looked into.

Semester-I 'Ode to Nightingale', 'Elegy Written In A Countryside' and 'Daffodils' poetry classes show how teaching through technology can really be helpful for us, the students.

  9. 'Creative'I would term it as.It was fun grasping our lessons with the help of presentations. The best part of these lessons were they never let boredom take over you.It made the classroom environs more interesting and interactive. This initiation of 'commenting on blog'also encouraged the reluctant writers within us.It was an obvious 'like' over monotonous class lessons(that we had been taking since childhood)and a frolic way to distribute education.

  10. Linking the technology with course is a different and an intresting aspect.Listening the poems and reading them on the screen is a new concept for us and it helps in upgrading our teaching methods from 20th century to 21st century. The interactive class makes our eyes and ears wide open for the knowledge which is a plus point from the old method. By this method we are getting involved into the teachings. Sir please continue this concept of teaching since it creates some fun in the class. This also helps in updating the facebook and blog status

The change you bought in the traditional teaching has helped me Tramandonly is my studies very interesting. actually I was bored of the traditional teaching, this new teaching created interest is my studies. as I wrote before, I liked the whole change.
The PPT is very useful ,it saved my time every information was on one click only. The video, to helped me to remember each and every thing about keat's life. I used mobile and interest dictionaries of to clear the meaning of some words. The mobile dictionaries and on line dictionaries are very easy to acess and it saves time also.As a student, I should not say anything yet, about the contributon of this type of teaching because rest of my studies are bared on the traditional stuff only But, it quite charged my attitude towards studies. I think whole of the pattern of study should be changed. There is nothing which I did not like, the only thing is that writing on computer is much hard that writing on the notebook. At lost, I would like to say tat please continue with this type of teaching and from next semester, use the blog from starting of the semester.

  13. Sir
This change from the usual classroom teaching methods is refreshing.I have never been a good listener and I at times find it difficult to concentrate during lectures. However, being taught with the help of presentations has aided to my understanding. The presentation of the poems that we saw in the class was an interesting experience.I really found it very interactive and effective as well.

  14. Sir
Yes, I liked the change for I saw poetry coming alive out of the monotonous books. During traditional classroom teaching, it was difficult to grasp the theme, portrayal and the 'reciting aspect' of poetry. Visual presentation assists in quick comprehension and later memorization. It made the class interesting and worth looking forward to. Thank you sir for this change and especially for the opportunity of online interaction.
